ACA Membership

Membership is open to professional graduates who hold a level 8 qualification in agricultural science or its equivalent and who practice primarily as agricultural consultants.

There are two options available to possible members:

1. Full Membership:

• Have a Level 8 Qualification in Agriculture (B.Agr.Sc.) or equivalent,

• Practice as Agricultural Advisor,

• Self-employed,

• At least 2 years experience as an Agricultural advisor,

• Have professional indemnity,

• Be proposed and seconded by 2 council members,

• The membership fee for full members shall be decided by the Council.

2. Associate Membership:

Holders of degrees or diplomas in agricultural science, environmental science,agricultural engineering, rural development (to a minimum level of 7) or its equivalent may become an associate member and may practice in their own right or in the employment of a full member. Approved graduates who are also employed in appropriate agri-business employment may be eligible to become associate members.

2. Associate members are subject to the same professional standards as full members and are bound by the disciplinary code of the Association.

3. Associate members shall be required to have a minimum level of experience at the date of application for membership.

4. The membership fee for associate members shall be decided by the Council.

5. Associate members are required to have personal indemnity insurance or to be covered by the professional indemnity insurance of their employer.

6. An applicant who is eligible for full membership may not become an associate member.

Note: Members must operate to a code of conduct, administered by the Council of the Association, at all times.
